Prime Time Sports Bar of Springfield, Oregon

I love a sports bar with its own kitchen.  This is a great place for breakfast, but cooks the kind of breakfasts that bar-hounds love.  If you are on a diet, don't go any further.  This place is for the big eaters.

Prime Time Sports Bar:

This is a sports bar that has great food.  My guess is that it was once a chain but later went solo.  It's located on Mohawk Blvd.  My favorite food here is breakfast, though the bar food for later in the day is great as well.  This is a good place to follow the Ducks ... that is if you don't have season tickets.  The place opens at 7 a.m. from Tuesday through Sunday, but closes daily at 2:30 a.m.

Country Fried Steak:

This treat is made from scratch.  They use hand-cut steak which they tenderize before breading it.  It's served with country gravy (I added the pepper), two eggs your way, hash browns and a slice of toast, biscuit, or pancake.  They'll give you cream gravy on the biscuits as well.

Bacon-n-Cheese Omelet:

This omelet is made with three eggs and served with their crisp hash bronx and toast or pancake.  A word about their bacon from the menu: "This isn't your ordinary bacon! Its a 1/4" thick, full of flavor and probably the single most talked about item on our menu. We cook it medium well, where its bendable and there's little to no clear fat."  And all of what the menu says is true.  You can also get an omelet made with either ham or sausage.

The "Basic" Wrap:

This wrap consists of a large flour tortilla with three scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, and sausage, covered with a mild green chili sauce.  There are several types of wraps at Prime Time.

Biscuits and Gravy:

Yes there is a biscuit under all of that gravy.  This is a rib-sticking breakfast that will grab your love handles and never let go.

Pancakes:

Crisp on the outside, but fluffy on the inside.  All that is missing is the syrup.  And this goes great with either their thick bacon or sausage links.  Pancakes are always a favorite with my grandson Graysen.

The Sampler:

Here's the big plate: two bacon slices, two sausage links, ham, two eggs, hash browns, and those biscuits-n-gravy shown above.  Watch out esophagus, here comes the acid reflux.

The Menu:

There are 32 items on Prime Time's breakfast menu not counting the sides.  You could eat here the rest of your life and never get bored.  For more info go to www.primetimesportsbar.com.
